I'm looking for suggestions for good field augers for sampling soils. Some delineators will use a shovel to get a feel for the overall conditions and then do spot checks with the auger. I don't like the fact that you can't see hydrology with the auger and I've always been a shovel guy. But, I'd like to play around with the auger so if anyone has brands they like or don't like, size reccomendations etc.. that would be great.
