The basics of habitat restoration/ replacement of functions and services for wetland and riparian areas are covered. On the first morning, the classroom session will cover the fundamental elements of site selection, preparation, and installation essential to successful restoration planning.
Field trips during the remainder of the course will center on case studies that illustrate how these elements come together to make a successful restoration project as well as common mistakes. Each participant will receive a copy of Wetland Mitigation: Planning Hydrology, Vegetation, and Soils for Constructed Wetlands as a reference.
