The state of Alaska includes approximately 63% of the nation's wetlands, with approximately 130 million acres (about one-third of the state). Alaska wetlands are diverse due to the size of the state, and generally include tundra, taiga and freshwater marshes. The Society of Wetland Scientists, Alaska Chapter, has nearly 70 members and has recently initiated informal meetings, post-field season. Please see our Events page for more information about upcoming meetings and our News page for meeting notes, plans and more.

SWS is pleased to provide a monthly webinar series on wetland science topics of interest. Webinar registration is complimentary to all SWS members. Check out the Upcoming Webinars page to learn more! In addition, all webinars are recorded and archived for complimentary viewing by members on our Past Webinars page.
