The President-Elect on the SWS Board of Directors shall assume duties and responsibilities of the President at the conclusion of the President's term or if the office is vacated. In the absence of the President or in the event of inability or refusal to act, the President-Elect shall perform the duties of the President, and when so acting shall have all the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions of the Presidency. The term of office of the President-Elect shall be one year or until the next annual meeting and then the President-Elect shall automatically become President for the year following his or her term as President-Elect. If the President-Elect assumes the duties of President prior to the normal end of term, he shall complete the President's remaining term and then complete his term as President for which he had been previously elected. If the President-Elect is unable to fulfill the term of office of the President, the immediate Past President shall assume the interim Presidency until an election can be held. The primary duties of the President-Elect shall be to assist the President in the execution of his duties, and any other duties delegated by the Bylaws of the Society or designated by Board of Directors from time to time. The President-Elect shall serve on the Local Program Committee for the Annual Meeting that will occur when the President-Elect becomes President, and shall serve as a liaison between the Executive Board and the Local Program Committee.
