Wetland Delineation and Hydric Soils Courses

If you are conducting wetland work in Alaska, Wetland Training Institute has two field courses for you.

Take the eSession online lectures for Basic Wetland Delineation and complete the field work in Anchorage, June 26-27, 2017. Or if you’ve had a full, basic wetland delineation course in the past and want a refresher on field practices in Alaska, just take the field session alone as a Wetland Delineation Refresher course. The WTI instructors are highly accomplished delineators with extensive experience and familiarity with wide varieties of wetlands and disturbed areas and can help you refine your delineation talents.

The Wetland Delineation course satisfies the requirements for basic delineation training as specified by the Corps of Engineers and certification programs in many states. Contact hours total 40: 24 hours lecture and 16 hours field.

Basic Wetland Delineation eSession with Field Practicum
Anchorage, AK – June 26-27, 2017

Wetland Delineation Refresher
Anchorage, AK – June 26-27, 2017

If you are like many seasoned delineators, the hydric soil indicators are challenging and seem to raise more questions than answers.  The Advanced Hydric Soils course is the answer to those questions.  This course has one day of online lectures and two days in the field in Anchorage, June 28-29, 2017.

The Advanced Hydric Soils course includes three to four field stops each day for two full days – as well as online lectures on soil formation, redoximorphic features, soil color, drained hydric soils, and wetlands not meeting indicators. Contact hours total 24: 8 hours lecture and 16 hours field.  The instructor provides informed insights and a focus on field techniques and proper documentation.
